Sustainability pot

Due to a past error in calculating service charges, a fund has been released to improve DUWO student housing in terms of sustainability. This includes measures to better insulate the homes and install solar panels on the complexes.

Placemaking

To make Uilenstede more vibrant and attractive, the VBU is collaborating with STIPO, the Municipality of Amstelveen, Nice Here, and the businesses on campus and in Kronenburg. A recent example is the addition of lights on campus.

Adjusting priority rules

DUWO intends to adjust the priority regulations for housing. This process is currently in its initial stages.

Service costs

Every year, DUWO meets with the VBU (Association of Utilities) to discuss service charges. As you may have noticed, the bill has been significantly overdue for several years. DUWO is currently working to improve the entire system surrounding service charges and billing . The VBU is closely involved in this process.

Heat stress

Heat problems have been a concern in the new building for some time. The VBU is still in discussions with DUWO about how to resolve this.

Hospitality policy

DUWO intends to adjust its housing policy. This project is currently in its initial stages.
